A career counselling report that stops at aptitude has done half the job. The useful half is the plan: which entrance exam to register for, by when, which institutions are realistic given the academic record, and what the family will need to fund.
We counsel students from Class 9 onwards, and we insist on time alone with the student. Decisions made by parents on a counsellor's recommendation, with the student present but not consulted, unwind in the second year of a degree — expensively.

At what age should career counselling start?
Class 9 is ideal, because stream selection follows shortly after and the options narrow quickly once it is made.
Is the aptitude test the answer?
No. It narrows a field from twenty options to about five. Academic record, interest, family circumstances and the actual employment picture decide the rest.
Do you earn commission from any institution?
No. If a consultancy is paid by the college it recommends, the shortlist is not neutral. Ours is not.
What does the family receive at the end?
A written report with the assessment, the recommended path, the shortlist and a dated action plan.
